-Prevent ponds and outside water pipes from freezing
-Prune apples and pears, acers, birches and vines
-Deciduous trees and shrubs can still be planted and transplanted
-Firm the ground around plants lifted by frost
-Dig over ground reserved for annuals next year
-Wrap any Mediterranean type shrubs in protective fleece
-Remove heavy falls of snow from hedges, shrubs and trees so that they are not weighed down
Service or have serviced / clean garden tools as necessary
-Check that greenhouse heaters are working
-Keep mice away from stored produce in sheds or garage
